Shriner Peak
Mount Rainier National Park
Angela Cranney and I went hiking in the Mount Rainier National Park. We hiked up to Shriner Peak fire lookout, which is located on the east side of the mountain. We left Tacoma Thursday night at about 11:30 p.m. and got to the park at about 2:15 a.m. on Friday morning. We then hiked to the Fire Lookout on Shriner Peak, Elev. 5834 feet. It was 4.2 miles all up hill. We reached the top at about 4:45 am, waited about a half hour then saw the sun rise on Mt. Rainer. It was really nice. There were only a few clouds. With my binoculars we could see hikers ascending to the summit and a few that were on there way back down. After we hiked back down to the car, we drove to Paradise and visited the Jackson Memorial for a little while, unfortunately the weather wasn't very nice with the clouds but it was bearable. When we got back home we had a bbq with our families. We then went to the Cranney’s for fireworks.
Don't forget to look at the panorama's!
