A fun day at the Lake.
Nate and I spent the day at his family's cabin located on Benson Lake near Hood Canal in Washington. First we swam with the fish then our hungry selves made sandwiches for lunch. After lunch we went out on the lake in the boat to go fishing. We were out for about 20 minutes and Nate caught a Large Mouth Bass. I was very surprised to see a catch so soon and at 19 inches, so big. We didn't weigh him but we guessed he was about 3 1/2 pounds. We took him back to the cabin to show his parents and neighbors who were relaxing on their docs. His mother wasn't at the cabin yet so we put the fish in the sink and waited. When she finally looked in the sink, she jumped and screamed from the surprise it gave her. After Nate's parents cooked a wonderful steak dinner for us, we had ice cream with strawberries and blueberries. As for the fish...interestingly enough, Nate doesn't like bass so I ended up taking the fish home and we ate it for dinner on Sunday. Cleaning the fish was a lot harder than I thought it would be but I managed to finish.
